OTTAWA – Today, Democracy Education Network (DEN) announced that its VoteParty.ca video, and the French-language PartyVote.ca video, are being shown before every movie in 159 Cineplex theatres across Canada through to Thursday, September 16th. Cineplex Entertainment has generously donated the cost of showing the video.

The videos in movie theatres are part of DEN’s national effort to increase the number of voters, especially young voters, who vote in the federal election, following up on its successful effort during the 2015 fall federal election that reached 3.5 million people across Canada and during the 2019 election that reached 1.5 million people across Canada.

Fourteen well-known Canadians have made videos with the VoteParty.ca or VotePromise.ca messages, including a Canadian celebrity montage English-language video featuring Rick Mercer, MAGIC! (#1 song “Rude”), Ashley Carlingbull (actress and Mrs. Universe), Michelle Morgan (from CBC’s “Heartland”) and Elena Juatco (from CTV’s “Jann”).

The French-language PartyVote.ca video features Florence K, CBC’s C’est formidable radio show host and musician.

The videos by the other well-known Canadians can be seen on the VoteParty.ca website, and the VotePromise.ca website. As well, there are many images that can be downloaded for sharing at VoteParty.ca and VotePromise.ca.

All are invited to come to the national #VoteParty on September 20th election night. Share your reaction to the election results, and what’s going on at your local Vote Party, on Twitter with #VoteParty, and on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/149158244050252.

#VoteParty promises to be a great party.
